The best nasi dagang

It has been ages since the last time I wrote a blog entry and I have been missing lots and lots of good food reviews that I experienced over the year. Where shall I start for the 2011 food review?? Maybe with the latest food experience that me and my hubby had a chance to try when we went to the east coast namely Kuala Terengganu to attend my conference. We stayed at Pantai Batu Burok Beach Resort for a few days and we enjoyed the sea and the beach view very much though not that impressed with the room service.

Anyway, let's not talk about the place we stayed, I am here to share the best ever Nasi Dagang I have tasted, in Kuala Terengganu and I can never believe that we did not take the chance to try it sooner than we should. The Nasi Dagang that I mean is actually just next to the BBBR (Batu Burok Beach Resort) and it opens daily from morning till early afternoon. The stall provides Nasi Dagang, Nasi Lemak and Nasi Minyak. Nasi dagang is made of a mixture of normal rice with glutinous rice. One must eat with fish curry particularly mackerel. It also comes with a salad mixture consisting of cucumber, onion and carrot.

Our mouths were filled with tingling and sensous sensation the moment we took the first spoon of the rice. We can taste the creamy and smooth flavour of the curry and rice; the fresh crispy salad made the dish perfect and complete. The amount of rice was not too much and it got us going till we made it to Kuala Lumpur (roughly 7 hour drive from Kuala Terengganu). It was a superb meal and and scrumptious. And we were even more pleased and surprised when the meal only cost us RM6 including the drinks.
The only regret that we have was that why we did not try the rice sooner especially when we did not enjoy our breakfast buffet provided by the resort (quite bland and tasteless). Oh well, now we know where to get great breakfast whenever we go to Kuala Terengganu.

It will be the Nasi Dagang next to BBBR definitely!!

This the location of the BBBR- the stall is just next to the resort.
