Restoran Cherating 2

It has been a while since the last time I posted my entry on the JJCM. Oh well, time constraint and pure laziness have managed to creep into me over these few years. Anyway, here is the latest post on our JJCM excursion for Oct 2014. We decided to go to Cherating for a quick getaway before getting back to our normal routine and work. Cherating is our favourite place because of two reasons, first the beach and second the FOOD since it is the closest place for us to get some nice east coast food from KL. We managed to go back to a couple of places that we have been before and tried a few new places around the area.

Lets start with this place, Restaurant Cherating 2 which is the sort of franchise from the first one located in the real Cherating area. This Restaurant is located close to Chendor area just after the RnR. It is not too far from Impiana Resort and Suria Cherating. We purposely did not take the room hotel with breakfast as we think it would be such a waste to have a continental or even cooked hotel breakfast when we could easily get a yummylicious local dish just a stone throw away.

So our first day morning breakfast was at this restaurant which to our suprise had an array selection of dishes eveen just for breakfast. It serves, Nasi Kerabu, Nasi Lemak and Nasi Minyak; on top of that it has tons of selection for the side dishes such as 'Ayam Kampung Goreng' 'Ayam Madu Percik' 'Huge Sambal Sotong' and the list goes on and on.

Me and Hubby decided to get Nasi Kerabu with the usual condiments and we topped up the rice with a few dishes, I took 'Ayama Kampung Goreng' and Sambal Squid while Hubby took 'Ayam Madu Percik', Sambal Squid and Patin Curry. The verdict?? Super yummylicious food and we couldnt get enough of it.

As a result we went back for lunch on the last day before coming back to KL. This time I took Nasi Kerabu with the condiments plus Tenggiri Sambal and Yellow sauce crab while Hubby had Nasi Minyak with Curry Itik Serati, Patin Curry and some Ulam. We left the place as happy customers and it sorted us out the whole day on the road back to KL. We will definitely visit this place whenever we are in Cherating.

The only down bit of this place is it is quite expensive for a standard mix rice for lunch or breakfast but it is still cheaper than the breakfast buffet at the hotel. For us the quality of the food in term of freshness and taste are the most important criteria to experience the local food. Plus having a chance to be around the locals made the experience even better. For those reasons we always opt for the local food rather than hotels.
